This project’s aim was to design a house for two families. With the intention of creating a space as the center of the home, the turning point in the design process was “sharing” this center, being the shared courtyard.
Open plan has been one of the main concerns. The placement of columns in the courtyard with the extension of the ceiling functioning also as a sunshade, the feeling of a inner courtyard is accentuated.
The interior space unit are single - layered, surrounded by landscape in every direction. The position of the interior space in relation to the southern and northern yard and the courtyard binds the inside of the house to its environment.
